Why Mobile Marketing Matters

YOU and Your Clients May Be Wasting
50% Of Your Real Marketing Potential !!!

Everyday, millions of people are browsing the Internet on their mobile devices to quickly find out where to eat in their particular area, where the nearest Starbucks is or even check the local traffic report.

Travelers are turning to their "smart phones" to find hotels, nearby restaurants, entertainment ideas on the road, and distances to the next gas station.

Yet, most websites are designed to fit on a screen that is 10-15 inches wide.

These websites take too long to load and do not fit properly on the mobile phone screen.

These Are The Facts
That You Should Consider:

  • Smartphones are driving an explosion in mobile internet use;

  • Smart phones were the highest selling consumer device in 2010 - over 297 million sold worldwide;

  • Millions of iPhone and iTouch users;

  • Android as a cheap alternative is now flooding the market;

  • Over 500 million people never use a PC to access the internet;

  • Over one-third of all Facebook users access from a mobile phone;

  • 100 million people actively using Facebook from their mobile devices every month;

  • Millions of mobile users access Google for products and information;

  • Usage of m.youtube.com is exploding and mobile consumers watch hundreds of millions of video views on YouTube Mobile each month;

  • 63 percent of survey respondents said they would be more likely to give up their money than their mobile "smart phone" if they were mugged;

  • The likelihood that someone will buy something on his/her mobile device is over 3 times higher than buyers on a laptop or desktop computer;

  • Unlike PC owners, 93% of smartphone owners are prepared to buy information and content.

The list of reasons for having a mobile website is much longer than what I have documented here, but you should have the information that you can share with your offline clients by now...

Closing The Deal...

When you are out to dinner with your spouse, pull out your cell phone and check the website of the restaurant where you are eating.

If the restaurant's website looks like crap, ask to speak with the manager or owner of the restaurant.

Inform the manager that you are an Offline Marketing Consultant, and you was just looking at his website.

Hand him/her your cell phone, and tell him that you pulled up his website on your cell phone.

Ask him/her to locate his telephone number on his website.

The harder it is for him to locate his telephone number on his website, the more likely that you can pick up a new local client before you leave the restaurant. /wink/

While he is searching for his telephone number on his website, with your cell phone, inform him that the average Internet user will abandon a website within 30 seconds if they do not find what they are looking to find.

Depending on how much of a mobile website the restaurant manager needs, you can typically charge $250 to $1000 to build the website for them.

Getting The Job Done...

If you are the kind of person who wants to save some money by doing everything yourself, you should take some time to learn the mobile website framework developed by the Jquery Mobile Team.

If you value your time a little more, and you are willing to buy a subscription to use a really powerful and easy-to-use Mobile Website Design program to help you build mobile websites for your clients, I strongly recommend this program.

Create a Long-Term Strategy...

Regardless of whether you create mobile websites on your own or use an existing mobile website design software, you should strive to position yourself to provide additional services to your clients, so that you can rely on them as a continuing source of revenue.

Use the mobile website to "get your foot in the door", then seek to provide other services to your offline clients after you finish building the mobile website for them.

You should always strive to:

  • Get Your Foot in the Door;

  • Complete The Job;

  • Prove Results;

  • Upsell Additional Marketing Services;

  • Rinse and Repeat.
